EMB Designs is deeply rooted in tradition with great pride and a genuine pursuit of client satisfaction. Founded in 2001 as EMB Designs, the company was historically known as The Buckeye Apparel Company, which was founded in 1969. Buckeye was a contract embroider and garment manufacturer making uniforms and work pants for over 100 years for many well-known retailers such as LL Bean and Lands’ End.
When Michelle Ebbing, CEO, purchased the company in 2001 from the James Brothers, she had a dream of taking the company direct to market. She invested money in new embroidery and screen-printing machinery and utilized the talents of the original Buckeye production team to find new and better ways to serve the client.
Within a couple years, she had managed to work her way into the direct retail market, selling branded apparel to many local companies. With a dream to expand every farther into the larger corporate marketplace, she hired Susan Bergman in 2010. Susan brought her marketing and online company store management experience – from the client perspective – to EMB. She and Michelle have teamed together to change the perception of an industry, not traditionally seen as forward-thinking. This collaboration has resulted in new, more robust online company store platforms, a new online ordering site for short-term apparel programs, streamlined client communications and a new brand image for EMB Designs. Love your brand isn’t just a tagline, it’s a philosophy and a way of doing business at EMB.
What’s not to love about that?
